The Portent Deal
To encourage writer's/bloggers etc to sign up, the site will feature ads. To start with these will probably be Google Adsense like the one's on this site. However I intend to shift to another advertising system as while Adsense is pretty good if your pages are single themed, when it's mixed, the results are also mixed.
90% of Gross revenue will be divided amongs the writers. (Including myself!) The remaining 10% will pay for hosting costs etc. The committment is 3-7 posts per week. Ie you could do one per day. (This isn't an absolute upper limit- truly exceptional circumstances will allow you more than one post in day. Let's see how it goes but a minimum of three per week. Revenue will be split and paid monthly. If you write 15 posts in a month and there are 100 posts in total then you'll receive 15% of the 90% of gross = 13.5% of gross. Eg if gross = $1,000 you receive $135. Payments will be by Paypal and I'll publish all revenue figures to all Portent bloggers.
Writing About?
Well anything interesting (and legal, no defamatory stuff) with two exceptions. No politics or religion unless it's unbiased and non partisan. Whatever my political and religious views are (and yours), portent.org is not a platform to inflict them on others. For the record, I'm slightly left of centre/center (either spelling is ok) with an entrepreneurial streak softened by a little touch of compassion and social conscience. Ah bless.
Sex? Well yes please
And be on the lookout for anywhere that will promote the website. Links etc. If you have a personal blog, mention it or better still include a link. As a blogger, you will get your own bio entry on the site (send a photo if you wish) and links to your blog, personal and/or work website with the bio entry.
Raring to get Started?

How many Bloggers?
I'm looking for 20-25. Once publishing begins, I'll have a better idea of how many we can take.Get started and soon you'll be able to say "Portentous? Moi!" Watch out BoingBoing!
